So I’ve been pretty darn lucky so far to have basically no morning sickness. What I have noticed is that it is SO much harder to sleep. Nevermind that you are drinking more water than usual and you can’t find a comfortable way to sleep and now it’s bad to sleep on your stomach – hormones are plenty to get you up every couple of hours to potty. What I didn’t expect is that all this crazy stuff + moving to a new place + stress at work + lack of sleep has given me very strange dreams.
After a particularly stressful day of work then overwhelmed packing & cleaning for 2 showings on the townhouse to potential renters, plus a very bad discovery that I had broken the bathroom light fixture, we headed to bed. As usual, I was wide awake, so we decided to watch a recent episode of Bones. The story was about the discovery of a sunken slave ship. One of the skeletons discovered was covered with a strange pink algae that looked almost alien. The rest of the story wasn’t important, but it was a good episode.
I finally dozed off to sleep. Somewhere in the middle of the night, my dreams led me to my own bedroom, where Paul and I were sleeping. Within my dream, I awoke and for some reason decided to lift the covers back off of Paul, only to have HUNDREDS of PINK SPIDERS each the size of a lime crawl out from under the covers all over Paul! Naturally, I screamed my freaking head off and jumped out of bed (in my dream AND in real life!!!) Poor unsuspecting and slumbering Paul was quickly awoken to the sound of his wife screaming and sitting on the floor, so he did what anyone would do, and started screaming himself! His screaming only made the dream all that more realistic, so I continued screaming and he continued screaming until we finally discovered that we were screaming at absolutely nothing.
After the terror subsided, we nervously laughed and attempted to return to sleep. Unfortunately, this is not an experience conducive to peaceful sleep and we were stuck up for quite a bit before we could finally calm down enough to sleep. Needless to say, Paul promised that if this became a regular occurrence, he was going to start sleeping on the couch. Here’s hoping that NEVER EVER happens again... EVER!
