Pregnancy Pants... where have you been all my life?

Today I had to stay late at work for auditions, so I decided to use my morning to stop off at Babies R Us. I've been browsing through the very sad maternity sections at several stores, only to leave sad and dejected at the lack of selection each place has. There's even one specifically geared towards "Momma's" which I will leave nameless that has all of about 3 racks of maternity wear. HELLO? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR MOM'S! It's in your name!

I went into the store not sure what to expect. I had been there once before to pick up a shower gift and all I remember is trying to find some random item off a million pages of registry as quickly as possible in order to escape from the place filled with screaming children. I guess I picked the right day to go today because the store was practically empty and all of the children seemed well behaved. I was even impressed that in addition to their usual handicapped parking spots, they have several spots for Mom-to-be's (I decided to leave those for any ladies who are farther along than I and chose a regular spot).

You walk into the store, which is like any other box store with no windows and it is filled with baby stuff... baby EVERYTHING. I had to do some searching, but finally found their maternity section - BINGO! I picked out a few things and brought them in the dressing room. All I have to say is HALLELUJAH - pregnancy pants you are my NEW BEST FRIEND!

Seriously, where have they been all my life? I think ALL pants should have elastic stretchy waistbands that go over your belly. They are SO comfortable! I've spent my life trying to find jeans that fit with not a lot of luck, maybe I should have tried these all along! I picked up a pair of jeans and a pair of dress pants plus 2 shirts. I put the rest back, not wanting to break the bank (although all but one item was on sale and they're way cheaper than a lot of stores would charge). I went off to find the pregnancy pillows, which I've been reading about.

After asking a few salespeople, I finally found the pillows for pregnancy. Wow, do they have a corner on the market. I had looked for knock offs at a number of other big box stores and couldn't find what I was looking for. At this point, I would pay a lot of money for a comfortable night's sleep, so I sucked it up and got the full body pillow, which of course is the most expensive one. I've heard for some people it's a lifesaver. This pillow goes under your head, down your belly and between your legs and is supposed to be perfect for sleeping on your side. I have high hopes for this pillow and have been waiting all day to try it out. I'm going to try it out tonight in hopes that I can finally get a decent night of sleep (although there is going to be a little less room in the bed for Paul & Sookie now, sorry guys!)

So an hour later I exited the store a happy camper - although my wallet disagrees. I think I'm going to have this love-hate relationship with this store. I will love many of the things that I can get there and hate the amount of money we will be dropping there.

Off to try out my pillow! ZZZ....
