After a very exhausting week, I can finally say that I've been able to have a few comfortable night's sleep. Although there is a little less room in the bed (and I've accidentally walloped Paul in the face a few times) the special pregnant body pillow is quite comfortable and was well worth the money.
Like I said, I had a very busy week at work trying to catch up from vacation, only complicated by the fact that WITNESS is in full swing and we have 7 new singers for the chorus that I need to get prepared for! By Friday afternoon, I left almost caught up to head home for a visit from Carolyn and Jim.
As I got home, I closed the garage door behind me. I heard it make a bump sound and then go straight back up. This has happened once or twice before due to snow, so I just tried it again. No go... upon looking more closely, half of the garage door opener mechanism has broken off of it's support braces and is dangerously close to coming crashing down on our cars. Uh oh... not good! We knew from the inspection that this could be a problem, but we didn't expect that it would happen so quickly.
Fixing the problem is only complicated by the fact that we haven't purchased a ladder yet. Shoot! So Paul put some press & seal around the legs of our very nice kitchen chairs and managed to use some wire to at support it temporarily enough to make it stable. We think.
Today we will be busy with Swedish Christmas with Paul's family, so I guess we fix it on Sunday? So much for using our Christmas money for a few new Wii games, I think we're getting a ladder for Christmas. How boring. Here's hoping Paul can fix it without my help... I am definitely the more "handy" one of the two of us, and that thing is HEAVY! Anyone want to come help? We'll buy you a drink!
