Good morning sunshine...

Hi all! So it's been quite a while since I've blogged, so I think I need to try to get back in the habit. So what do you do when you wake up at 6am and can't fall back asleep? I guess you blog!

A few things have changed since my last blog -

1. We got a renter for the townhouse! It's a man who lost his home to a fire and is rebuilding. It's only temporary and may only get us through March, but it is a MUCH needed rest period from the stress of not having the place rented. His move in went fine, except that the day they moved in the water heater started leaking (CRAP!) Luckily, someone was there to turn it off before it flooded the entire basement and we were able to get it fixed for only about $125. I could think of much worse things.

2. My belly has been popping out like crazy. Some days it looks bigger than others, but I have to say - for the first time in my life I can sort of enjoy having a big tummy! :) I've also enjoyed finding new clothes to fit the new belly. Really, maternity clothes are not so bad, and VERY comfortable. I may never give up the jeans.

3. I reached the halfway mark!!! Yes, I'm over the hump and only about 4 months left until the baby arrives. This both excites me and scares the CRAP out of me! We are SO not ready.

We're pretty excited that the ultrasound is on Monday. I've been DYING to get a little glimpse of what Paul is calling "the peanut" and if the peanut cooperates we'll get to find out if it's a boy peanut or a girl peanut. Then we can also move ahead with doing a registry, decorating the nursery, and all that other super fun baby stuff that we've been waiting for.

I'm trying to get used to everyone knowing that there's a baby on board. I think a lot of people guess, but are afraid to say anything. We bought a new vacuum last night and were joking about naming it. We told him "please... we've had enough trouble thinking of baby names to even think about a name for our vacuum." He said he had guessed but was afraid to say something since he heard you're not really supposed to in case you are in one of those tragic situations where the gal actually isn't expecting. Not fun, so I get it.

So far, no one has really gone for touching the bump, which is fine with me. It's not such a big deal if I know someone or they ask, but I've heard all these horror stories about strangers in a store coming up and touching the belly asking "when are you due?" Those are the ones that I'm NOT okay with. We'll see if it happens, they might just lose a hand.

What I wasn't expecting is how many people have been asking "how are you feeling?" Frankly, I haven't really figured out the best way to answer that question, and I get it ALL the time. Some days I feel great! Some days I feel tired. Some days my muscles hurt or I have monstrous headaches. Overall, though I've been feeling pretty good most of the time and things have been pretty smooth sailing. I've gotten my appetite back and can eat more than just mac n cheese (although the mac n cheese is still yummy). No eggs yet though. And the headaches only seem to come when I have a day off - which I am both happy and angry about. No headaches at work, but when I have a day off, my head is pounding and I end up spending the day on the couch. Not fun. I've been feeling about the same the whole time, so that's the answer (in case you were thinking about asking - and you can, but you might just get a fine from me, or you might get the whole story, it depends on what kind of day it is.)

Anyway, that's about everything for now - I'm sure there will be more news on Monday after the ultrasound, so stay tuned!
